Tim Casey joined the firm as of counsel in 2009. Tim spent part of his childhood and undergraduate education in Reno and then obtained his J.D. from Santa Clara University in 1988. Tim stayed in Silicon Valley for 10 years in private practice and as in-house counsel for Apple Computer and Silicon Graphics. He then moved east and spent 10 years in Washington, D.C. and New York City as in-house counsel for MCI Communications and a partner for a large New York law firm.

Tim returned to Reno in 2005 to enjoy this mountain region. He and his partner, Jacquelyn Fuzell, started SilverSky Group, LLC which provides business development and non-legal intellectual property-related services, such as patent preparation and prosecution. Tim specializes in the protection, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights and technology-focused transactions. He has particular technical expertise in computers, networks, communications, software, mechanical devices and medical devices.

Tim is a member of the State Bar of California and the District of Columbia Bar. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the U.S. Claims Court and a variety of additional courts.
