Kelley R. Carroll

Kelley Carroll joined Porter Simon in 1991, after practicing in San Francisco. He has been certified as a specialist in the areas of estate planning, trust and probate law by the California State Bar's Board of Specialization, and he holds an advanced law degree (L.L.M.) in tax. Kelley has also earned the highest rating, AV, awarded by the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell organization. This rating is reserved for attorneys whose legal skills are judged to be "very high" to "pre-eminent," and whose ethical standards are "very high."
  
Kelley is a board member of Sierra Senior Services and the Friends of the Truckee Library. He is a member of the State Bars of both California and Nevada, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, as well as a variety of State Bar sections and local bar associations in both California and Nevada.

Kelley was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated in 1982 with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He received his law degree in 1987 from the King Hall School of Law, University of California at Davis, and also received a Master's degree in 1987 from the Graduate School of Administration, University of California, Davis. Kelley later completed his L.L.M. degree in tax law from McGeorge School of Law in 1992. Kelley and his wife, Paige, reside in Truckee with their daughter, Emma, and son, Peter.
